After returning home Alyssa went to her Solar and commanded not to be disturbed so she could go over all the stuff she'd missed at that farce of a Tournement.
She also engaged in one of her favourite passtimes, designing siege equipment.
She took out her notes on the likely fortification levels of the keeps on the stepstones and got to work designing some siege equipment bespoke to the likely situation.

My compatriots to the north assure me the outbreak was minor and steps are being taken to reduce the infection rate even now."

He looked at her for a moment and then answered. "As they always are, too many old men like myself arguing over matters that could have been settled decades ago. But such is how it is, and always will be," he added. "Too many minds can be worse than too few, if they don't align."

"That is true," she nodded smiling at the man, "which is why I only ever speak to you one at a time," she joked, "is there anything oldtown can do to make the lives of the Maesters easier?"

"More gold and fewer dumb adepts," he joked. "I confess I don't entirely know what you mean, my lady," he said.
