Willem was now on the defensive, tiredness more so than any actual damage from the other's tourney blade from which his plate was protecting him.

As the training sword glances up off his helmet, Geralt brings it down again hard, the blunted blade slamming into the collarbone of Willem's shield arm.

That was enough for Willem. He wasn't going to risk his performance in the melee and joust, for a meaningless training yard bout. He glanced across at his cousin and gave a pre-arranged signal, used many times before. Ser Jaymes Reyne, encased his own red and white plate moved across interperse himself between them.
Before Jaymes reached them, Willem laughed...the sound muffled through his helm.
"I yield, Prince Geralt. You have bested me."

Geralt stopped his blade mid-swing at Willem's yield, saluting his opponent and removing his white enameled hair. The first beads of sweat had begun to form on his brow and his breathing was slightly labored.
"Now you'll have to return the favor in the melee," he remarked, with a broad smile, a gracious in victory. "Well fought, though. A fine bout."

Willem extended his hand. "I admire skill as well as bravery Prince Geralt. You have the former in spades and I'm told the latter. I hope we have the opportunity to test our mettle against one another again." He grinned. "Maybe I can show you something different next time."

"Well that is one nice thing about these rare events," Geralt said, taking the hand and shaking it firmly. "We get to test the veracity of the claims made about our neighbors, and if we are lucky, we find our expectations exceeded. We will have to find cause to see one another more often, if only to ensure some variety in the training yard from time to time."

"I would not be averse to that occuring." replied Willem. "But for now we must be content to meeting each other on the melee field and in the lists. Good luck to you Prince Geralt."
