A suite of rooms comprising a large bedroom for the princess, a small solar, a privy and rooms for her personal servants. The bedroom is furnished in green with white accents. A large four poster dominates the room and there's a tall screen decorated with painted vines and flowers that shields Melissa's bathtub. Wardrobes back two of the walls and another boasts a large window with a cushioned bay where Melissa likes to sit and look out over the gardens. Melissa's weapons and armour are placed on stands to the side of the room. The solar next door holds a set of cushioned armchairs, a couple of tables, a writing desk and a bookshelf.

In Melissa's room in Oldtown, a messenger arrives, escorted by a Reach guardsman, a small dog on a leash following him. There's a letter on his collar from Theon Hoare, for participation in the Musical Chairs event.

 Surprised, Melissa let out a cry of delight and immediately ran to the puppy, stroking his ears and murmuring to him. As she did so, she noticed the letter and unrolled it, reading it with a smile on her lips. "Oh, sweetling," she murmured to the puppy. "Your old master has a kinder heart than I dared hope after all this time. I will have to write and thank him. You will have to be my new best friend. But you'll need a name..." She cuddled the puppy as she contemplated his name. |
