Melissa's heart skipped a beat as she realised her blunder. "Oh! Prince Torrhen told me himself. He...helped me out recently so I went to give him my thanks. He's a good man, Asha. I think you'll like him very well."

Sarissa and Arianna grinned. "That would be a trip to remember. Or, perhaps, to not remember. You'd have to be as fun there as you are here," she said. "And we'll all be as wrinkled as you, the summer sun beats down on us all and turns us into crones." The elder princess winked. "That's why we need to have our fun now." "I quite agree, and the best fun starts by drinking," she grinned and beckoned them to follow. "My goodsister had the idea to mix drinks and name them."

Asha smirked. "Helped you out?" She asked, a twinkle in her eye. "Oh please do tell. I don't know him well at all, but he seems quite...pleasant. And handsome," she added. "I'd love to hear how...helpful he is."

She followed Alyssa as she led. "I assume the whole responsible married life kills the fun at home?" She asked. "I think men invented marriage," she added. "So they can leave home and do whatever they want and make us sit in a castle and...well, keep ourselves entertained."

"I'd love to hear how...helpful he is." "Oh...I got into a bit of bother, nothing you would care to hear about," Melissa replied, aware that she must guard her tongue more carefully. Somehow she had almost finished her drink. "But rest assured, Prince Torrhen was chivalry itself. If anyone ever tells you that chivalry stops at the Neck, don't believe them."

"You'd be surprised" she said wth a grin, "there is a large part of marriage to Geralt I enjoy" she said with a grin as she lead them over and made a drink, "the responsibility is in ruling but when friends visit i am sure I can make time for fun," she poured some rum and bandy and then some fruit juice into a glass and tried it, wrinkled her nose and coughed a bit as it was strong and unpleasant.

Alex nodded, "I can imagine you are, no one throws a party like the hightowers," she said and linked their arms, "let's get a drink, no? Do you know anyone here?" Annice smiled shyly at Alex's party throwing boast . "No. I don't. I may know names, but not faces."

"I'll find that out for myself soon enough," she said. "A bit of nothing? That involved other nobility? You are a good woman, Melissa, but not so much a good drinking companion," Asha said with a smile. "We should add some blueberries to this, I think."

"We would be honored to come visit." They looked at her drink. "Two liquors? That's just crazy," she added. "You'd need a bigger cup, at least."

That's an unusual combination but I'm game if you are," Melissa answered. "I'm sorry. Asha, I wish I could just sit and gossip about the situation, but it's just not possible. Sensitive matters, you know." She winked. "But anyway, I'm sure you have some interesting tales yourself."

Asha mixes the drinks up and takes a sip. "Not bad," she said. "I have some interesting tales, I guess," she said. "Admittedly none involve men interested in you, but..." she pushed her hair back, "honestly, I don't leave here much," she admitted. "Winterfell will be the farthest I've ever been from home...The Twins will be, really. I went to Seagard once and Maidenpool and Duskendale a few times....that's it," she said ruefully. "No grand trips here."

"Travel isn't for everyone," Melissa answered. "But I'm sure your husband will want to present you to his major bannerlords, at the least. You'll be hearing a lot about them over your life, so you will definitely need to meet them. Their wives, too. are you looking forward to going North?"

"Oh I plan on visiting it all," she said, "it's still summer at least. White Harbor...uh..." she thought, "Barrowton...probably skip Bear Island I guess...I don't know, maybe the Long Lake?" She smiled. "I'm looking forward to going back to being a proper princess. Sometimes the role of royalty in Harrenhal is...nebulous. There's a king and a prince and everyone else had best stay quiet."

"Oh, but I envy you then! I'm not sorry my father's the king - how could I be? - but sometimes my status can be a disadvantage. it can be hard to have the kind of adventures I like when I must consider my status at all times." She sighed wistfully and sipped. "Oh, this is lovely. What shall we call this one?"

"I'll leave this to you," she winked. "It's your party. Have you ever debated just...running away?" She asked. "Leaving it all behind? Being a warrior queen like from a story and conquering your own lands at the head of an army?" She leaned in. "I could be your fellow queen and we could reign together," she laughed.

Melissa laughed. "I've lost count of the number of times people have said that to me! I love my family too much to run off. But it's fun to dream of, if nothing else. My cousin Lilith and I play that game all the time. Last time, we decided that we would be two intrepid ladies travelling from Oldtown to the Wall, with Lilith breaking the hearts of a hundred men throughout our travels, while I won trophy after trophy from all the men I defeated in combat."

"Well stop at Winterfell if you do that," she said. "Apparently they have hot springs. That has intrigued me," she admitted. "The things one can do in a pool of water..." she grinned. "If nothing else will stop me from being cold. Lilith...yes, the lady Florent," she said. "I saw her a few days ago, she seemed very nice."

"She;s my cousin and best friend and the most fun person I know," Melissa confided. "I've had some adventures but Lilith is bolder than me. I can't give away her secrets, of course, but if you happen to meet her again, you might ask her about some of her adventures. I'm better with a sword, but she knows much more about men."

"I'll be sure to," Asha said. "What don't you know about men?" She asked. "Surely that isn't also some state secret of Highgarden?" She swirled the blueberries with the tip of her finger in her drink. "They aren't terribly complicated creatures, all told. My hounds have more depth, in general."

"Do they?" Melissa burst out laughing. "I'm sure most men would dispute that. I'm afraid I don't know much about how men think, except that many believe women shouldn't carry swords. But Lilith knows exactly how to wind a man round her little finger. I, on the other hand, never cared about such things. I don't even know how to flirt." She shrugged, not caring, and reached for the drinks, this time mixing orange juice with rum and a little ice.

"Let the boys prattle," she said. "Undo a few buttons on your top and hint that men can touch what's underneath if they do what you say. All those famous seductress' or vile temptress devil girls just...do that, basically," she added. "I guarantee Lilith use kissed one boy with a bit of tongue and let him hint to others how great she was at it, then they all came like ugly little puppies with their tongues hanging out."
She looked at her mix the drink. "A beverage I can get behind," she said with approval. She went to repeat the combination.

"It's called Dornish Kiss," Melissa said, grinning. "But I'm afraid I shan't be trying those thing you suggested. I would feel a fool for sure. I would rather a man speak to me like a sensible creature than came panting after me with his tongue hanging out."

"They'll always have something hanging, better to just let it be the visible thing," she said with a wink. "A Dornish Kiss? I can compare this favorably to that, for a fact," she laughed. "Give it a shot...for me," she said. "Then tell me all the details. It'll be fun."

Melissa feigned gagging noises. "I'm a terrible actress, Asha, and I don't even want to flirt." She sighed and took a swallow of her drink. "I like this one even better than the other. I'll leave flirting and kissing to you."

Asha rolled her eyes. "And I'll leave dodging dares to you," she sighed. "It's all a game," she said, "flirting. We only marry with our father's permission, so it makes the men feel...like they're important. Really good for their morale. Then you get to break it, and let them know who they really are. You find the good ones that way. They bounce back."

"I haven't got...whatever it takes to do it," Melissa admitted. "When I was younger, I wished I did, but it's just not me. I prefer crossing swords with me to playing other kinds of games with them. It's fun when a man thinks he can beat you, and you put him flat on his back with your sword at his throat."

She pretended to wrack her brains, taking sips of the drink as she did so. "His name was Loras Flowers, the Bastard of Darkdell. I saw him forcing his attentions upon a servant girl. He was kissing her and groping her breasts and she didn't look happy, but dared not refuse him. So I pulled him off her. We quarrelled and he challenged me. I don't think he knew who I was until afterwards, and he couldn't back out then. We fought, and I won. He has a rather nice scar on his cheek, but I heard he treads more carefully around the servant girls now." She smiled. "I enjoyed playing heroine."
